Licensed Professional Counselor in Liberty MO
Warm, genuine, and deeply compassionate, Joshua creates a safe space where teens and adults can heal, grow, and move toward a more hopeful future.

Joshua Harms is a Licensed Professional Counselor with two Master’s degrees—one in Counseling and one in Divinity—and more than 12 years of therapy experience working with adults and teens. He has served in private practice, psychiatric settings, and addictions treatment facilities, giving him a broad and compassionate understanding of the challenges people face.
Joshua specializes in EMDR and trauma recovery, working with everything from mild distress to complex trauma. He also has extensive experience supporting clients through grief and loss, anxiety, depression, addictions, mood disorders, and major life transitions. With certification as an Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist, he offers steady, skilled guidance to those walking through seasons of deep pain.
Clients consistently describe Joshua as warm, genuine, easy to talk to, and incredibly down-to-earth. Many share that he is the first therapist they’ve been able to open up to—someone who listens deeply, offers helpful perspectives, and creates a space where people feel safe enough to talk about what they usually hide. His relaxed, conversational style helps clients feel at ease, while his insight and grounding presence lead to meaningful breakthroughs and lasting progress.
As a counselor with a Christian background, Joshua can provide faith-integrated counseling for clients who desire it. He offers hope, and encouragement while maintaining a respectful, non-pressuring approach.
