Joni Clausen is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in working with Couples and Families. She has dedicated over 20 years of her life to serving the people of her community and has spent the last 3 years working as a therapist in an acute psychiatric hospital and residential facility. Joni is trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and multiple play therapy modalities, including child-centered, attachment, and sandtray therapy.

Joni has experience in treating depression, anxiety, sexual/physical traumas, and interpersonal conflict. She is passionate about empowering those who have struggled with bullying, low self-esteem, and/or making meaningful interpersonal connections. She finds great joy in promoting health and healing by helping individuals discover their existing strengths and identify the skills needed to thrive. Joni also has extensive experience helping individuals and their families navigate the challenges of intellectual/developmental delays and/or autism spectrum disorder and gain skills necessary to achieve increased connection and daily function. Although Joni works with a wide range of ages and concerns, she specializes in play therapy and helping children and teens.

Joni has an energetic personality and genuine warmth that fuels trust and makes engagement in therapy feel safe. Her curious and playful approach embraces imperfections and views emotional struggles as an opportunity for personal growth. Joni is passionate about helping individuals make meaningful connections to their family, their community, and above all, the best version of themselves.
