Why a trained therapist is important
One of the main reasons for seeing a therapist, rather than simply talking to a friend, is experience and training. Our therapists are constantly taking continuing education classes to improve their knowledge and specialty areas.
Therapists have special areas of focus, and extra training in specialties to help you you with your specific problems. Experienced therapists have seen the problems you’re facing again and again, which broadens their view and gives them more insight. All of our counselors and therapists have a masters degree in a counseling or social work and have had hands on experience in working directly with clients. There are some problems, such as trauma or PTSD, that seeing a specialist is absolutely essential.
